PRESS RELEASE: We’re Joint Commission Accredited!

Ambulatory Infusion Center Pure Infusion Suites is Joint Commission Accredited and Lowering the Cost of Healthcare for Critical Patients.

(SLC, UT- Oct 17, 2022) – (SLC, UT- Oct 17, 2022) – Pure Infusion Suites, a brand of Pure Healthcare, has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a quality symbol reflecting a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

Pure Infusion Suites underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review on July 28th, 2022. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with Ambulatory Care Standards spanning several areas including medication management, infection prevention, and control, leadership, the environment of care, and emergency management.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help healthcare organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

“As a private accreditor, The Joint Commission surveys health care organizations to protect the public by identifying deficiencies in care and working with those organizations to correct them as quickly and sustainably as possible,” says Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification Operations, and chief nursing executive, The Joint Commission. “We commend Pure Infusion Suites for its continuous quality improvement efforts in patient safety and quality of care.”

Pure Infusion Suites is an ambulatory infusion center that is focused on providing patient-obsessed care. Pure Infusion Suites began in Billings, Montana, and has now expanded across 9 additional states including Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. They will soon be opening in locations in California, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Texas as well.

“We are elated to earn the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval and to further validate everything we do to deliver on our promise to be “Patient- Obsessed.” Said Josh Smith, CEO of Pure Healthcare.

“Thoughtfully addressing the complexities that exist in delivering a special experience while ensuring the optimization of clinical quality and safety to patients with chronic diseases is what makes this team so special. Our Northstar of expanding patient access at a lower cost, and doing this with the patient in the forefront of everything we do is what truly separates Pure Healthcare.”

In the United States, nearly 24 million Americans suffer from an  autoimmune disease. Over 80 autoimmune diseases are currently known to science, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus, and irritable bowel diseases), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

With more and more Americans suffering from autoimmune diseases for unknown reasons, advancements in treating these conditions have taken a front seat for scientists across the country leading to the development of infusions.

Infusions work by injecting drugs known as biologics through an IV directly into the bloodstream, ensuring better medication absorption and taming your body’s immune response. Biologics are typically not given to you all at once but are injected over a period ranging from 30 minutes to four hours, hence the name infusions.

These therapies often occur in crowded hospitals with long wait times. Patients often need to schedule their lives around their inputs to receive necessary care. Pure Infusion suites is a dedicated model of patient care that empowers patients to have control over their lives in the face of debilitating diseases while offering comfortable and privatized care.

Our providers focus on providing patient-obsessed care, which starts by allowing our patients to bypass long hospital lines and waiting rooms. Our patients check-in and receive care in a private suite catered to their needs and those of their accompanying loved ones or caregiver.

Our suites are designed knowing that infusions are an hours-long process that our patients will have to endure. Each Pure Infusion Suite is equipped with a 55-inch flat-screen TV, WiFi access, comfortable recliners, and food and beverages catered to our patient’s desires.

Our staffing and intake procedures allow each patient to have an infusion nurse that is dedicated to their medical care while receiving their infusion, allowing for better patient monitoring and personalized care.

The patient experience at Pure Infusion Suites is unparalleled compared to the industry standards, especially when it comes to reducing costs for payers and patients.

A 2010 report issued by ICORE Healthcare showed that receiving infusions and an AIC cost 53% less on average than in a hospital. For Example, the National Infusion Center Association estimates that an injection of Remicade, a medication typically used to treat various arthritic conditions and irritable bowel disease, costs nearly $11,000 per infusion. However, at an AIC, the same injection costs a little over $4,500.

Pure Infusion Suites takes caring financially for their patients a step further by assisting their patients in enrolling in co-pay assistance while providing other financial aid programs to lessen the burden of care.

As healthcare has advanced in the US over the last decade, medicine is becoming more personalized. This personalization has resulted in patients and their physicians seeing more and more choices for where care can be received. Pure’s, “Patient Obsessed” motto seeks to match up the safest level of care with the absolute best patient experience while lowering the total cost of care for everyone involved.

“Preparation was the key to our successful survey. Utilizing the evidence-based Joint Commission Standards, our team established a comprehensive gap analysis of all of our key clinical and quality management processes. This gap analysis was our roadmap that enabled the fine-tuning that results in consistent, predictable clinical and administrative practices.” Said Wayne Kinsey, Director of Operations. “All of our colleagues throughout the organization had a hand in improving our processes that were evaluated during the survey. I could not be more proud of our team and congratulate them all for this achievement.”
